Scripture of the Day - October 17, 2012

Genesis 37:35  And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.
36  And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh’s, and captain of the guard.

Jacob believed the report and was brokenhearted, gut-wrenching sobs moved his family to comfort him...but to no avail. It was over. There was no hope. There was no consolation. Jacob would go to his grave mourning his favorite son... so he thought.
But he didn't know the whole story, He didn't know what God was working out. What Joseph's brothers meant for evil God used for good. Evil things may happen to the Christian but fear not, for with God on your side who can stand against you? The enemy may come against you like a flood and it can be overwhelming but keep the faith, keep hold of God and watch Him work in your life. Allow Him to mold you and shape you into what He wants you to be. It may hurt sometimes but it's for your own good.
Joseph wasn't dead. God was positioning him and molding him to save his family. Your situation isn't the end. God is working in your life.
